Two things happened day that couldn’t have ended my trip better on a better note.

I swam with my London based Vladswim friend, Chris McAnney in the Serpentine, Hyde Park where I swam with James Goins on my first day here. I was great to bookend my visit with these swims and in the company of these gentlemen. The Serpentine Swimming Club formed in 1864 this year celebrated its 150th anniversary. SSC has more channel swimmers to its proud name than any other swim group in the world (50 something) , although with 18 solo crossings and 6 more to come this season from Vladswim in just 3 years , that title might not be the SSC’s forever.

I woke for my swim to have received overnight a link to the video of my English Channel swim from the Frenchman, Gaetan Guilhon who was on my boat. The video is here for you and I hope you enjoy something of our experience. I am nominating Gaetan for an Oscar this year for best foreign film.

My memoir is almost done , a few edits on the plane home and it will be off to the publishers. I’m looking forward to getting home , and the next chapter.
